BCCN on Facebook

BCCN now has a Facebook presence, to allow all users to interact and share information. On your Facebook page search for ‘Border Counties Childcare Network’ in the search bar and click on the link. Alternatively on the BCCN website www.bccn.ie go to the Contact Us page and click on the Facebook logo, it will take you directly to the site, if you have already got a Facebook Login.    

Becoming a fan of the page is easy, just click on the ‘Like’ button.  Once you have become a fan of the page you will be able to contribute to the site, comment on wall posts and even write your own blogs (through the discussion bar) or comment on other  people’s posts.  This page will rely on user generated content, so any item of interest you stumble upon; please do add it to the site.

We envisage this site being used by Early Childhood and After School workers, providers, students, trainers and other stakeholders - a place where like minded people can discuss and share ideas, as well as look for information. 

You can help us to promote the site by posting the page to your profile, simply scroll down to the bottom of the wall page and on the left hand side you will see ‘Share’ , click this and it will post our site to your profile.  Or if you know others on Facebook who you think might benefit from the page, you can click ‘Suggest to friends’ which appears just under the BCCN logo on the top left of the page.

New to Facebook?

Facebook is a Social Networking site which has pages devoted to certain topics, where interested parties can post, comment and upload pictures dedicated to specific topics.  It is a great easy way to connect to people and share information.

If you are new to Facebook, or have never used it before, don’t worry; just follow these simple steps to get you started.

Step 1

Log on to the internet. In the URL bar at the top of the top of the page type in www.facebook.com

Sign Up It's free and anyone can join

To sign up to the site you will need a valid email address.  Type in the personal information asked for, and a password that you will remember! Click sign up.  You will then be asked to complete a security check, you will see an image with letters in it type what you see into the bar provided. Then follow the steps.

You can complete these steps to set up or you can opt to ‘skip’ the step on the lower right of the page.  Once you are through to you main profile page, you will see a bar at the top of the page telling you to go to your email account to complete the sign up process.  In your email inbox you will have an email asking you to confirm, click the confirmation link.

You are now set up with a Facebook page, to return and login simply enter your email and password in at the top on the page on www.facebook.com

Privacy Note: To protect your profile and your personal information you should change your privacy setting.  When logged in, on the right of your page at the top you will see ‘Account’ on the drop down menu select ‘Privacy Settings’.  From here you can chose different levels of privacy to suit your needs.

Once your account is set up you can search for ‘Border Counties Childcare Network’ and click like to become a fan of the page.
